I’m Going In is my favourite Drake song because I feel like he “goes in”, as is the theme, on the track and kills it. I feel like it best displays his talent as a rapper

I know I can’t win this contest, but for the purpose of celebrating Drakes hard work.. I will share my favorite song.

“Light Up” feat. Jay-Z – which appeared on Thank Me Later is my favorite track. Ever since the album came out, each time I listen to the song, the sound/energy feels the same as it did on the first play. I also feel like “Light Up” was the most slept on song on the entire project. Too bad Drake & Jay-Z did not shoot a video for it… because with their current relationship, it doesn’t look like we’ll be hearing them on the same song for a long long time (if ever again).

I have so many favorite songs of Drake but my absolute favorite song would have to be Marvin’s Room. I love this song, because at the time when it was released my relationship that I had with my boyfriend at the moment was not as stable. I also liked the fact that I could relate to it, because of certain lines in the song that were relate-able and the reason it appealed to me in the first place was because Drake left this impression on me that ” guys do have feelings ” although they may act as if they don’t. And the fact that at one point in his life he felt the same way , that I as a girl felt amused me. My favorite part to that song would be the chorus, it was catchy, it was the biggest song of that summer, and it was hot. Because I personally think, everyone has someone to dedicate those same lines too. Its touching, soothing and flow-able.

One song I enjoyed and would list as one of my favorites would have to be Oh Nana – Rihanna ft. Drake. This song kept replaying over and over again in my household, that my little daughter who’s about 2 years old starting picking up the lyrics to the song. I like both of these artist, I think they exhibit great qualities and performance wise, they both preform well. My eldest daughter is in love with Drake and he is one of her inspirations. Knowing that hes Canadian, and represents Toronto, gives us the glory we deserve. I watch his music videos, I watch how he presents himself and he’s kind of unique, an unpredictable kind of an individual. He very intellectual and his likings and presents from different genres which makes his music different. Oh Nana reminds me of my youngest daughter and presented a flow that was catchable. It was a good song!

  9. Man…. I really had to go through my iTunes for this once. First off, my runner-ups are “City is Mine” and “Say What’s Real” (for entirely different reasons) but if I had to choose one, I’d go with “9AM in Dallas”. For those that don’t know, this song was recorded in a hotel room in Dallas the morning after a show; they hadn’t even gone to bed yet and Boi 1da banged out this beat from scratch only to have Drake absolutely go IN on everyone who was talking mad shit about him after Thank Me Later dropped. The dude just made $2 mil in 30 days? Get off the boy and let him live. This track proved to everyone that Drake can sing on hip-hop records, still sell hundreds of thousands of copies and then turn around and spit a few 16s to show the haters he has those skills just to fuck you up because he’s bored.

I actually had to review all of Drake’s songs/videos – but honestly, I’m going to go with one of his more recent songs – “Headlines” – simply, because of the video. From Guildwood Park to the Roger’s Centre to the CN Tower, he continues to put Toronto on the map. I love my city, and seeing our city in his video made me really happy. It’s literally a journey through Toronto…
